The worst humanitarian disasters in the world.

Over 65 million people are displaced from their home – the most in recorded history. They are people fleeing violence, living away from their homes with no sustainable access to food, clean water, health care, and other basic essentials. Right now, one of every 113 people in the world is a refugee.

When you join National Refugee Sunday you'll be giving to two of the greatest needs the world has ever seen.

The Middle East Refugee Crisis

Roughly 12 million Syrians have been forced from their homes by a brutal civil war. Nearly 5 million have fled to nearby countries, close to a million are seeking asylum in Europe, and over 6 million are still surviving in Syria.

East Africa Hunger and Refugee Crisis

Conflict and drought remain the two key factors at play for South Sudan and Somalia, the most at-risk countries in East Africa. They both have experienced long periods of internal conflict and violence, causing millions to be displaced from their home with no access to sustainable food. Extreme hunger threatens to engulf the entire region, including Kenya and Ethiopia. In these four countries alone, 25 million people are in desperate need of food.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in…”

- Matthew 25:35 (NIV)
